Wireless CarPlay Perfection, Single DIN
Finally installed my CP-71W. Got tired of waiting on the Modifry.shop delivery, and installed it with the Schosche adapter harness (the single plug, not the double) and the PAC SWI-RC-1 dashboard control unit. All went well thanks to the previous posters here and some YouTube videos. Everything works, even the mute button! One thing I wish I knew going in was that on the PAC unit, there will be several wires that are not used for this application. I guess it's that way because it is a "universal" item and maybe those wires would be used in some other application. But, as a somewhat nascent stereo head unit installer, it was all very confusing. I wonder if I can get my $90 back from Modifry.
@6581R4 I've got a red AP1 as well! Love the plate. If you ever spot a red one with a Davidson County plate 9KRDLNE that's me!
Anyone know if you can connect an external mic to the unit instead of using the built-in mic? Or maybe the built in mic is good enough it doesn't matter? I have a Sony radio right now with an external mic mounted on the steering wheel column.
I'm also curious if the radio controls on the left of the dash can be customized. With my current Sony I have the large source button set to trigger Google Assistant.
Lastly, how do people feel the quality of the sound from your speakers is? Subjective question, I know... and largely dependent on the speakers and equalizer settings.

I'm so annoyed. I installed this setup on my AP1 and now my AP2 and it did some strange stuff with my electronics. First off the unit would keep muting and unmuting itself, then for some reason my dash has gauge stopped working and the dash clock kept resetting. I uninstalled the PA and everything went back to normal.
Edit: The Joying DCI is not the same as the PowerAcoustik. I'm not sure if it's the same as any other DCI, Mr Not Modifry (whoever runs it now) has not responded to me.

I installed a separate microphone and rear camera and both work great. I'm really impressed with a WalMart product! I just recently installed an under seat subwoofer from Amazon - a Rockville RW68CA 400w 6x8 Slim Under-Seat Active Powered Car/Truck Subwoofer Sub. It was only $89, so it was worth a try. It doesn't make a huge material difference in sound, but helps by adding fullness to the 6.5' speakers in the doors. Has anyone done the same? I currently have it resting on the floor and I'm looking for mounting suggestions. I may just apply some velcro on the bottom to fit more securely on the carpet. Any suggestions on mounting the under seat sub are appreciated.
