Since the Odyssey sub is out and was supposed to be fitted for the S2000 which is now in delay. Is it worth while to buy it and try to rig it or just go with Kenwood or Basslink?

I need to shake things up man!

Wait for the JL stealthbox due out in July. Per the techs there, the box will be one 10" driver. This should shake things a little with a nice 300 watt amp.

I think if they can squeeze a 10" into the well are to make a flat trunk with a nice grill on top....I will have to drop in a huge 10" with a nice amp and go BOOM BOOM BOOM! That tied into my Bass shakers should have one HELL of a shaking S2000! I will be testing out all kinds of subs to find what works best in that enclosure.(personally I hate JL subs)

If I can do it I might try to cram my Autotek MXI 90 into that left side of the car.....won't be easy! That or I could pull out my surf board.....Autotek 222. Though that alone requires 3 8 aug wires and about 2 farads of capacity to power it.

Hell this car already gets enough juice sucked out of it with the 80 watt amp.....though 2 channels are bridged doing 2 ohms!

I will definitly be one of the first to get this JL Sub box if its worth anything. I will probably be prepping my stereo for acceptance of the box when the time comes! Yes car stereo's are addictive. I thought the shakers were all I was gonna do.

Oh BTW: That 90 watt amp pushes upwards of 400 bridged! And that 80 watt 4 channel 2 ohms mono on 1 bridged set is pushing about 180 watts(I can only assume because its not rated for 2 ohms!) It puts out 100 mono at 4 ohms from 20 watts a channel.

If I weren't to use my own stuff I would definitly drop in a mono block Cadence amp!

I believe the JL box will be the cheapest and best alternative to any sub out there that takes twice as much space and power. Believe me, one 10" driver will not do any justice for me, but it will have to do without eating our truck out of space it already doesn't have. I will too be testing the JL audio as soon as it is available. Per conversation with JL over the past two weeks, they have went from 3 6" drivers to 1 10" driver and who knows what other changes they will make before they come up with there final box.

By the way, best amp on the market hands down Soundstream De Vinci. 1300 watts on 7 channels.

slina,

I actually considered a Di Vinci flsh-mounted in the tool/tire well... but with an amplifier like that you have to consider upgrading the alternator (and I didn't want to do that in my Stook). Plus, I didn't need 7 channels... only three. I considered it for loks alone...

Shaner,

The Devinci is an excellant amp. You should hear the quality, top notch. 7 channels are appropriate if you decide to run rear fill. However in this car, good luck. And also the weight of this amp isn't the lightest. If you do run the amp, let me know what you think.

I already have 2 Alpine MRV-1507 amps (my vote for best-bang-for-the-buck) which I had a hard time fitting in my trunk as it is

All I want to do is get an all in one Self powered Sub for the trunk. Since space is at a premium I don't want to worry about amps and boxs etc.

This JL I assume is a self powered sub?

No the JL will not be self powered. I have decided to put in one 4 channel amp under the seat. The stereo shop is going to do the install on Friday and I will post pictures. The amp will run the fronts at 50x2 and the sub at ~225 watts. This way, virtually no room will used up that is noticable.

If you want a self powered sub, I suggest either the Bazooka or Rockford self powered subs.
