Default XM Satellite Radio...Not Working?

I just recently leased a new S2000 and I love it. Besides this annoying clicking from the soft top during warm days (anyone know what that's all about?) the only thing that doesn't appear to be working is my XM Satellite radio. I do not have a subscription yet (mostly because I don't want to pay for one if I can't listen to it) but according to the owners manual I should be able to receive a "preview" channel. However, when I try to switch to XM via the "CD/XM" button, nothing happens. I can cycle through both FM frequencies and the AM one as well with the radio button. But clicking on the "CD/XM" button will only bring up my CD player, no matter how many times I click it. Is there something I need to do in order to activate it?

I searched on the forum and couldn't find any mention of this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure that XM is installed in the car? Is there an XM antenna on the trunk?

I could be wrong but I think your radio is "XM Ready" which means it requires additional hardware. This was taken from the Honda website underneath the S2000 trim level description:

Sorry if these questions are dumb, but all I would need to get this to work is an XM receiver/antenna? This simply plugs into the back of the head unit?

I'm sure I can find a DIY on how to take out the head unit and plug the XM antenna in on this board, right?

no , the modual is in the back of the car and so is the factory antena... I suggest instead of paying $500 at the dealership for the unit and install go out , get an aftermarket radio with xm or sirius built into it

Kill two birds with one stone. Get XM and better sound.

I'm sure you could do what you were suggesting, but I am going to jump on the bandwagon with the other guys and say go out and grab you an aftermarket deck. If you are going to be in the dash anyway, there is no reason not to do it. I couldn't even hear the factory radio with the top down when I bought my S. IMO an aftermarket head unit is a must buy.
