XM Tuner Install Help/clarification
While I sit waiting for my new speakers to show up, I picked up an Alpine TUA-T020XM tuner that I want to install this weekend. Currently all that is installed is an Alpine 9831 through a Lucid harness and DCI unit. Planning on putting the tuner under the driver seat.
Questions are:
1) The alpine pdf manual (from their site) shows connectors on the power wire and ground wire, which I don't have (bought the unit from a board member used) and says to wire the power to the battery. However, the power wire is tiny and seems as though it could be wired into the harness? Is this a bad idea?
2) I am planning on attaching some sort of fork/spade connector to the ground wire and using the gold screw up above the pedals. Is this a good idea?
3) The antenna I have (came with the unit) seems to be the older Terk style (bigger) and I was going to mount it on the inside of the trunk lid. As long as I put it on one of the "dividers" instead of the actual lid I should be all set?
Anything I am missing?
Thanks!
My perfects will be here on Tuesday.
Now if I could only get acaraudio.com to actually ship me my sub...or even give me an honest answer

No - never gone to a meet before. Given the amount of searching I have done on this site since I started my audio upgrades I probably should have and saved myself quite a bit of time..
Speaking of searching, I was reading about the "extra" power taps in the fuse box that is under the dash on the driver's side (next to the grounding bolt I was asking about). Could I just put a quick connect on the power wire of my Tuner and hook it up to the "Ignition" tap in the fuse box? The tuner has a 7.5a fuse on it, would I still need to put an in-line fuse on the wire?

This is a highly debated topic in S2k electronics. Some people wire to the battery some don't. I personally don't.
I have a radio from overseas with a harness made by Alpine for dash controls and its plug and play.
