Default Xtant Amps

hi guys,

I've been looking around at some custom work for my S and I've found a very good fabricator/installer in my city. He told me he was going to use 2 Xtant amps to power the sub and speakers in my car, but I know next to nothing about them and I can't find a lot of recent information about the company

Can anybody shed some light on the company and their products? He's quoted me 2 amps for about a 1000 bucks. I don't remember the models unfortunately. I can get some JL stuff for a good price from friends and wondering if it's worth it to spend extra money on these amps.

Thanks in advance!

What model Xtant amps? I used the older 3300 and 2120 in my truck to run BA Pros and a 10" BA sub. Great SQ amps. Reliable. The internal fans vary so when its hot and the music is low, you may hear the hum.

Xtant used resistors to manage the hi/lo pass frequency. Not sure if the newer amps still use them. These can be a pain to get... So make sure the installer has them on hand, or he can get you a set for yourself. You'll need one for each channel so make sure you get enough. Each time I went to a dealer, they didn't have the resistor I wanted.

The amps are great... drove mine really hard. Used to have the best sustained output. Again, great SQ for the front... not the best if you want a big booming bass.

And a class A/B for your highs. Not as stable or cool running as a class D, but far more accurate at amplifying the range covered by the components

yea. i think that a single amp running all the speakers might get a little hot in a tight area especially if its pushing alotta power.

Xtant makes good quality gear, at least when I was using them. Hopefully, their standards haven't slipped.
