Default AEM EMS

Hey everyone, I have been having a huge issue with my car. I recently Data logged a few runs with it acting up and not acting up and I have no idea what to look for... I've never really messed around with the EMS.

I was wondering if someone could take a look at some of the logs that I have and see if they can find anything wrong and see why I'm having the issues that I am.

Here's a link to the thread describing my problem:

Thanks in advance,
Robert

It sounds like you're running on three cylinders. That would also be why you're running leaner than usual. First thing I would recommend doing is a spark test. Make sure each coil is firing.

Is there a reason why it's only when the car heats up and started back up after it's warm?

I read somewhere that when it gets warm the coilpacks contact point might expand, but I just wonder why it doesn't do it on the first start after it gets warm.

So I thought I had the issue resolved. I swapped out my coil packs with another members and the car ran fine for 3 solid runs and then I had to go to work. I ordered 4 used coil packs and swapped them out and was still having issues. I have isolated the problem to the one closest to the firewall (cylinder 4). Well whenever I put a "cold" coil in the car runs fine for a little while and then starts acting up again. I bought a new one from the store and it too fails when it hits a certain temp. I've interchanged 6 different coils all with the same result. It runs fine until it gets hot.

Anyone have any input?

Too much heat from your turbo?

Address the excessive heat under the hood?

Bad wire/connection that acts up when hot?

I swapped out the manifold a couple days before this started happening, but it's pretty much the same. I wrapped the downpipe with a heatwrap and I'm not sure how to combat the rest of the heat unless I vent or get a vented hood. I'll try insulating the wiring somehow.

I'm going to try and take logs of when it's acting up because the last time I did the car decided to run fine and I have 3 good runs and no bad ones. It's also weird that the weather is actually much colder now then the day that it ran fine.

Another member mentioned that the tune may be messed up. Apparently he was having a similar issue and it turned out to be the low load below 4k rpm which is basically where my car is at it's worst.
