When I had my AEM Series 1, I did not use any gauges. I trusted it and every time I did a datalog, the tune was spot on regardless of season. I also had the over boost cut and a few other smart safety measures set in case there was a mechanical problem. The Infinity does all of this and more. You can definitely run it without gauges if you want.

So.... as I continue to save for the Aem infinity, please help tell me why I shouldn't get the 8h. The 8h is $100 less than the 6h. My goals are is to install the J motor once 2ners completes the mounts ect..... As of now I am stock. (bolt-ons)

The main reason to get the 6 is to drive the factory coolant gauge. The 8h is missing the output needed for that.

Since the Infinity 8H can drive two additional coils/injectors, there are less available lowside outputs (the hardware needed to come from somewhere). Also, the Infinity 8H can only drive high impedance injectors whereas the Infinity 6 can drive both high and low. Unless you're going to be running an 8 cylinder engine, I would ALWAYS recommend an Infinity 6 over an Infinity 8H. Think of the Infinity 8H as a budget 8 cylinder box over the regular Infinity 8.

Wadzii/others,

Do you think that it is possible to effectively run a "street" NA f20c, using the PNP harness, and only the factory sensors, or does it require the additional sensors to work?

If you'd to share this information offline, please email me: matthew[d0t]leach[attttatatat]gmail.com - I need some data for an SCCA rules discussion.

Thanks,

Matt

Why not share it here where we can all benefit from the info? Is this top secret info?

It is totally possible.. One of the great things with the AEM stuff is that it can be run as simple as you want and you still have the option to add as many sensors, etc when you get to it.

Since the infinity does base its calculations on fuel pressure its important to have a fuel pressure gauge and a steady fuel pressure if you are not going to add a sensor. The new 300+ lph fuel pumps overload the stock regulator at low duty cycle and will make tuning a little more difficult if you dont have the fuel pressure sensor.
