Default Best ECU upgrade

I am wanting to have the car retuned using some new software but am not sure on which one is best for the s2000. The car is all motor and will stay that way with bolt ons. So i am wanting to get some of you guys opinions on either using Hondata kpro or aem ems, or any other piggy back/standalone. This is for a stock block 02 ap1 s2k. Thanks in advance!

Kpro. I have one for sale. Will save you more than 500 over buying new.

Well you could go to a dyno and figure out your A/F ratios at WOT and if you are still running rich, rich is the common thing early AP1s run, then you could cheaply get a VFAC and lean it out and at the same time lower VTEC engagement point and pick up some nice gains.

I can tell you my tuner obviously uses all the software and systems ( a must to stay in business), but he prefers AEM, he says it is much easier to use...and to me, easy for him makes it better for me.

I am in the same boat as the OP. But, the afc is hated on here a lot saying its the worst way to tune and could blow up the car etc. It was what I was considering. The mugen ECU seems to work with simple bolt-ons, but it is unobtanium used and new costs a ton.

For the price of any of the JDM ecus you are way better off getting either AEM EMS or KPRO and a personalized tune.

yea i am using aem ems in my rsx but it just seems pointless to buy a standalone for a car that just has bolt ons and thats it....so i guess kpro is my best option to go with
