boost by gear aem ems

how do you do it and what do i need?

you can use any of the AEM boxes with a boost control soleniod to do boost by speed, if you are set on doing it by gear then you'll need a series 2 box

And I've heard others say that boost by speed on the Series 2 doesn't work correctly..

If you have a Gen 1 box you can get pretty close with Boost by VSS. The Series 2 is going to be using an actual Boost by Gear routine
