Default IAT temps

Hi,

Its likely that no one knows the answer but at what IAT temps does the stock ecu begin to retard timing?, maybe Hondata knows?

Cheers

The stock equivalent calibration for the Hondata FlashPro shows that there is no change in timing at part throttle based on IAT, but at full throttle, it starts retarding timing above 107 F. At 143 F it retards 4 degrees, and at 197 F it retards 8 degrees. Above that it stays at 8 degrees retard.

BTW, I believe the retard will be interpolated between these points. For example, at 125, the retard would be -2 degrees.

Excellent thanks Gerby, the reason i ask is i was wondering if my 'stockish' setup with my CTSC and aftercooler after a long run would start to retard timing - glad i went ahead with the aftercooler as i nearly didnt.

Usually my IAT hovers around 107-111F during partial throttle and around 100-102F in WOT when more than warmed up.

I've had it on the dyno and tuned by me (Well vafc and fpr , IIRC it didn't really show any signs of retarding timing (according to my mate who is a tuner). It was merely to cure my curiosity as i was thinking about the hondata intake manifold gasket.

I was looking for a quick fix to help if it was the case, if its a red hot day >=30c here in the uk no doubt it will likley be highier and start to retard timing, but i expected this.

Are you a software engineer?, im sure you are? I am and was in the past looking to get into automotive engineering as i would find it much more interesting .

My engineering degree is in Telecommunications, but I've been a software developer for the last ~9 years. I don't know if I would like be an automotive engineer, since I imagine most of what they do is incredibly boring.
