Recently my car went into limp mode and I got a CEL for a failed ecm so I took it to the stealership and they replaced the ecu. I have a 2003 with intake, test pipe and exhaust and also a Greddy emanage tuned by Giles (Holy Roller) in Atlanta. I still have the emanage but I haven't plugged it us because the service techs said it was a possible cause of the fried stock ecu. However, none of the harnesses are bad or have loose wires, but my emanage wasn't secured down to my car. Could this have caused any problem? Should I try and use the emanage again or just don't fool with it and sell it?

very unlikely story. i think just go and search for issues regarding e manage. havent really heard about ECMs toasting coz of it.

Only input with some decent voltage is the MAP, analogue out maybe I think that's about it for outputs to the ECU.

 

If the eManage was a possible culprit, then I don't think you should sell it. I think you should either plug it back in, or throw it away. That said, I wouldn't assume that the eManage was the culprit either.

 

Its the very likely case of the stealership telling myths about Mods though.
