Default 4.44 gear in turbo s2000?

anybody running this combo? just wondering how much better this is at the track vs the stock gears. shorter gears, so does it mean you have shorter time boosting or shorter powerband?

4.44's and turbo is fine in an Ap1, but the 1-4th in an Ap2 may be a little short. It also depends on the turbo you're running (BB vs Non-BB and the size) and how much hp/tq you're pushing. A lightened flywheel will also bring you to full boost faster.

you'll have a more broad powerband with a turbo. Dropping out of vtec will not longer be such a killer. Shorter gearing would not be required to keep you in your powerband

I'm running 4.57 now with boost and I've always thought I wanted to go to 4.44,

I'll have to try it on gran turismo first, it's a great place to test gear mods

The only thing about aftermarket gears is make sure they are good quality. I've installed kits on customers cars with diff gears with the comptech re-inforced diff, and STILL saw the gears sheer apart in the diff, (from what I'm told these weren't from launching as well and they were already on the car when we installed the kit ).

The stock diff gears are actually fairly strong as long as you don't launch
