Default 4.5inch pulley for vortech

I called ASP to order a 4.5inch pulley for a a vortech SC I will be installing in few weeks, and they gave me a choice of steel or aluminum????? Which one are you guys using, and which is better? / why? Im looking to get 9-10 lbs of boost (according to sideways a 4.5" pulley will do that)....i would assume the aluminium is lighter and the better choice, but maybe theres something im not thinking of???

Thanx
Joey

go with aluminum, a bit lighter to spin, it wont make a ton of diff however.

Usually they recommend steel pulleys if I recall correctly anything 3" or smaller because of belt slippage. This is as quoted by ASP on a phone conversation months ago.

I agree with Venemous on this one! I went w/ Steel at ASP's reccomendation with a 3 inch pulley but you should be fine with Aluminum for your pulley.

What else did you get to run that pulley? AEM EMS and injecotrs? I also would like to raise boost to 10 lbs.

yes, you will need larger injectors and an engine management system. You will will also need a good tuner.
