could this have been an ap1 problem as they had the crappy retainers?
No, it's the springs that fail in this case so AP1 / AP2...doesn't matter.

No problem man. I just wanted you to know the truth about what could happen over time with the stock valvetrain. Id hate to see someone drop a valve and ruin a good engine because they didnt have the correct information about things. Just make sure you pull the valve cover every once in a while and check the retainers and things for cracks or signs of valves slipping out of the retainers. If you see any weird things, its time to get the valves serviced before a major catastrophy happens.

haha love your sig picture boostedf22c !

Well that sucks. Seems retarted that our engines are strong enough to hold 400whp with boost without even touching the engine and yet cant handle a bit of 2step.

Like someone else mentioned tho can we not set this up as a secondary rev limiter without the popping?

Wouldnt that be the same as the oem ignition cut rev limiter which surely cant be that bad for the engine?

Most newer vehicles have a secondary rev limiter when the vehicle is not moving to avoid engine damage can we not set something similar up in AEMPRO?

Yes you can, I had mine set up with an ignition cut at 6200 rpm and fuel cut at 6400 rpm with no ignition retard.

OEM rev limiter is a fuel cut not ignition cut / retard. Of course if you use the OEM style limiter it'll be much more safe but what's the point? By cutting the fuel your not going to build any boost. There is a reason why honda doesn't use ignition related rev limiters...again, your on borrowed time so just understand that risk.

Anyone have any updated settings? I havn't heard of any recent valvetrain failures from 2step? Post up your settings if possible!
