The new aem meth kit should have a built in check valve as well to prevent leakage but I haven't tested how well it works.

Think I'm going to install the Snow Performance solenoid. I called AEM and I guess they don't make one and they recommended the competitors solenoid for their kit.

Also got the pump and tank mounted in the trunk. Just bought 2 10" steel L brackets and bolted to floor and then tank to that. And then just bolted the pump to the trunk as well.

Only thing left to do is get the solenoid in and drill and tap the hole in aftercooler for the nozzle.

I might just do that once down at the tuners if I don't have the right size tap in my shop.

I'm going to be installing a AEM kit soon, I have been reading up on the forums about it, and my last decision I need to make is where to place the nozzle. Where did y'all place yours?

I'm going to put mine in the aftercooler outlet. Should be placed 6-8" before throttle body I've read.

Figured id do a compression test before upping the boost since I have 190k miles on my stock motor.

Looks like engine is still healthy!

215-215-215-218

Been boosted since 125k.

Evans Tuning FTW!!

He has a solenoid valve installed to keep pressure up between the pump (recirc type) and solenoid. However, there is about a foot of tubing between the solenoid and the nozzle. Perhaps this is causing it to dribble at the start of spray. Do you think shortening the length between the solenoid and nozzle will help this problem? A foot of tubing between the two is not so bad in my opinion. What do you think? Also, do you think dribbing a few drops of water will cause any problems? Thanks.
A little dribble isnt a problem, what sucks is when all the fluid in the hose between the injector and the solenoid drains into the intake when it’s not being called upon. The check valve in the injector is supposed to eliminate that. You can purchase clear tubing from Home Depot hardware store in the plumbing section, and choose to use this over the black stuff that comes with the AEM kit, or at least a section of it between the solenoid and injector to help you see what the fluid is doing, if its siphoning into the motor or not. A roll of the clear tubing is really inexpensive, just seems to make sense to use instead for a visual/troubleshooting reasons.

I tested the flow on the kit today just using distilled water.

It does drop out for a few seconds after it stops spraying but doesn't dump the liquid out or anything so check valve is working which is good.

I ordered the snow performance solenoid regardless so I'll put that right before the spray nozzle.
