Broke mine this weekend also. My car makes 500. Got into it in first, spun, grabbed second pretty quick, started spinning and skating, and BOOM. Acted like it popped out of gear, and nothing there. Oh well.

 

I also limit boost in 1st & 2nd which helps. I do not slam gears and rarely race from a stop light although I have a few times. As soon as it starts to spin I let off the gas. This car is scary when it spins and fishtails.

 

1st gear to 2nd is violent lol, i did it once and thought wow that shits gonna break if i keep that up! 2nd gear and up pulls are the way to go on these cars

 

I'll punch it in any gear. Just shift slow. U don't have to slam Gears to have fun.

 

shifting slow from 1st to 2nd is so hard. the feeling of slamming 2nd and feeling the tires spin just feels sooo good.

 

You can´t win races granny shifting. I think fast shifting and maxing out the car is a big part of driving/having a sports car. Too bad it´s crazy expensive to make her stay in one piece...

I have a gearbox without second gear if anyone need parts.

 

Haha word. Were in the same boat. I know a 4th guy with a blown 2nd gear

 

PPG gears are definitely awesome. For years and years (and still might be) they were the go to gears for Subaru guys still running the 5spd. That's on an AWD system where the drivetrain sees arguably more stress. You'd have to see an open case to see just how big of a difference there was in stock gears vs the PPG gears.

 

I've blown 2 2nd gears on my setup... I've switched to a g-force tranny!

 

Ill sell my car before I drop 10k into a transmission setup.
