Banjo Bolts Opinions?
Hello again everyone! Okay so I have a 2001 S2000 and in the spring I will most likely be installing a Greddy Turbo kit. Keep in mind this kit puts the horsepower at around 300-310whp @ 8-9psi.
Heres my question, since I am not going crazy with boost will I have to upgrade my oil banjo bolts? The reason I am asking is this is the one project that scares me since if it is done wrong the engine is junk. I've heard to many people destroying their engines doing this. Do you think I would be okay keeping the old banjo bolts in my car?
Along with that, I will not be beating on the car by any means, just hitting vtec/boost a couple times a drive.
Keep in mind I will be adding an oil cooler to my car as well.
Anyone who has this kit. Should I upgrade them? Should I not?
All opinions welcome, it would be nice to hear from people that have this kit as well.
Thank you
Keith

I was in the same boat as you a while back. I ended up replacing mine with the updated 4 hole bolts. I figured I would rather have the peace of mind knowing that my engine was going to run dry of oil. The work isn't all that difficult to do if you just take your time. If your dropping the transmission to upgrade your clutch (which you may not have to at that power level) its only a few more bolts to drop the oil pan from there. Replacing the bolts after this is very easy to do if you make sure you hand tighten them at first. YMMV but I think it is a worth while upgrade if you want the most reliable motor you can get.
Upgrade them! If not comfortable doing yourself seek out a local s2K tech or experienced fellow owner.
I got to 110k on my '00 before I spun a bearing. N/A.
I recommend it for every S. Especially if going FI.
