Default Kraftwerks C38-91 stripped threads

Hello again everyone,

Yet another issue with my Kraftwerks kit with upgraded C38-91. I seem to have solved the vtec solenoid bolt issue by using grade 12 Allen-head bolts instead of the grade 10 that came included with the kit, those have been giving me no issues whatsoever, except now it seems that somehow, the bolts holding the supercharger pulley onto the rotrex unit (6 small Allen-head bolts) backed themselves out and in doing so, stripped the threads on the small plate of the Rotrex blower, which then also shredded the belt a bit (still intact). I bought new bolts and used a fresh coat of loctite and torqued them down but it just did the same thing again and I am now stumped. Has anybody else had this issue or know of a solution? I plan on opening a support ticket with Kraftwerks and giving them a call as they are semi-local to me and seeing what can be done. Thanks in advance!

Same exact thing here. Already talked to KW And their solution is for u to buy their 30mm kit. Their current kit cannot handle the torque produced by the 91 blower.

Could you have a machine shop install more bolts (cut/tap/dye) etc.

Oddly enough this is with the 30mm kit with cogged belt. This is also after the vtec solenoid bolts included with the kit broke off inside the head and I have since replaced them with Grade 12 Allen-head bolts.

I contacted Kraftwerks and am waiting for a reply now (submitted a support ticket yesterday, called them and they said just wait till my ticket goes through). If they can’t resolve my issue with some sort of warranty replacement I will take it to a machine shop and see what can be done. This isn’t my first issue with their customer support either.

I know this is a resurrection, but I'm looking to do the same thing. Mine has happened exactly as you had described... twice.. but on my Scion FR-S, but same supercharger unit. I'm hoping to step up the size of the holes and use larger screws... What was the end result of yours?

I drilled out the V-Tec holes and put Time-Sert steel thread inserts in. Then got ARP bolts and installed KW's new support bracket.
