Wouldnt dropping the whole K member to get the engine out mean you would have to disconnect the brake lines and things? I hate messing with disconnections like that. I'd rather work around having to do all that and just pull the engine from the top after taking the tranny off.

no.. pop loose the lower ball joint, tie rods, unbolt the sway bar from the car (leave it attached to the LCA cause the end links are always a pita to get loose.).

Leave the kunckle attached to the car. the biggest pita is the steering linkage and thats really not that big a deal, just mark it before you take it off.

When i did my clutch it took me several hours to get the clutch out and you 1/2 way have the whole sub-frame unbolted to do it.. may as well take the rest off.

^^That makes sense then. I'll have to look into it more when I go to pull my engine. Thanks

yeah, a lift does make it easier

I use the engine hoist to pick car up off the engine.

and make sure to take the cam sensors off the valve cover, they are easy to break!

So unbolting the front suspension and dropping the front subframe the easiest way how hard is it to get the steering column out and marked while its in there? I'm pulling motor and trans after I get back from vacation. All bondo will crack with the heat and the frame twisting from the power your gonna be making imo I'm currently trying to figure how I'm going to be shaving the bay as well.

Not using bondo. Bondo is the worst stuff ever made. The polyflex is said to withstand 220 degrees and a 45degree flex. I know the engine bay wont flex that much but if it cracks then I'll just have to fix.

Just.got my new devilbiss spray gun in from ups on Friday. I can't wait to get the bay in color so I can start putting the small stuff back in. Projects like these take forever when you're on a budget. Just takes a while to save for these expensive parts.
