I like the install somewhere besides a guage pod because it just yells out "I have aftermarket ecu and no immobilizer so please steal me"

A location that sticks out less is what I prefer. The PLX guage does get hard to see sometimes because of the glare off the screen. The best one I have seen was mounted inside the rearview mirror but I did not take the time to do that. With the plx you can download the S2000 gauge face so it matches the dash but you can only do that for one function, so my AFR has an S2000 look, but then if I set it to read boost or both at the same time it is a generic look.

I have seen better installs but here is mine:
I have the same gauge but have yet to even install it in my car due to it having to be warrantied twice (both for screen issues)... I think it's a good idea in theory but their quality control is definitely subpar for something that costs $200+.

You have to get in the footwell upside down and start pulling things to get that panel out. Here is the key: when you drop the steering column DROP IT STRAIGHT DOWN AND DO NOT TURN THE WHEEL THE WHOLE TIME IT IS DROPPED. If you turn the wheel you will break the clock spring. Ask me how I know. Be very gentle with the column when you drop it and have something cushy to support it on your seat.

Once you get the panel out just gut it and install the lcd screen but you will lose all stereo button functionality. I never used those controls anyway. I did see a similar but better install in the same location. I don't have a pic but that guy removed the black bezel surrounding the LCD screen and surface mounted the screen from behind the panel so you could still see the whole screen but it did not stick out and was flush. It looked much better, but i was just winging it.
