Boost isn't really the limiting factor here - its heat.

Compressors are inefficient, and generate heat while they compress your charge air. Different impellers have different efficiency characteristics at different flow rates and pressure levels.

If the combination of heat from the turbo, piston compression, and timing advance is too great, you'll get detonation.

Good intercooling helps reduce IATs. Higher Octane fuel will tolerate higher temp/pressure.

"How much boost can I run" is a simple question about a complex issue.

Theres heat but theres also strength of the components (Piston, Rods, etc)
Example: a stock K20 can make 500+ but the rods cant take the power for very long.

I agree that this is another broad question with many specific answers that don't fit. It does very much depend on more specific information, although I also agree that you will be fine at 22psi. I run 32psi on the street 10k miles a year, it won't last forever, but no problems yet!

Fred a Horse Power Connection in FL has a bone stock unopened motor, just tuned on 20 psi and made 625, and now the car is on 26psi

I'm with Brock on this one.... Can we get some more explanation for cylinder pressures and what is considered safe and best for endurance(longer life of motor) and how can you figure out what the max efficiency of a turbo/manifold before it is piping hot or hotter air than is optimal? Notice i say optimal as i realize its possible with tuning and higher octane to quail hotter AIT's and the subsequent detonation. But what is "optimal" or maybe better said as perfect in a perfect world?
Thanks guys! Have at It!

@Mark-Realstreet.....Concerning the MoTec SKM... Is there something of equivalence that is for the AEM?
Thanks
