Brant/Joe: Any thoughts on the dip before the cam switches at 6000 RPM?
I think we just need to lower the VTEC engagement point. The hardware to do it is already built into the ELF, we just have a little code to write.

Yea... Not bad at all for 6 psi! How hard is it going to be to change the psi? Thanks

Not necessarily directed at the guys at BRP but I might have a situation.

I have a 12" sub w/box in the wheel well of the s2k where the battery (I'm assuming) will be moved for the hotside SC. It was addressed in the BRP forums that the batteries need to be "contained" with a cover so I pretty much can't have one free floating in my trunk. I know this should be a simple fix if I can find a place that would make a housing for the battery that I could keep on the side of the trunk. Does anyone know where I could find something like that or have an alternate solution to my predicament?

Thanks

No more poems for now...

Here's my experiences with this situation:

1) As the battery isn't in the passenger compartment (assuming it's still in the trunk, of course), most racing bodies won't require a battery box

2) Many racing bodies will permit no battery box if the battery in the pass compartment is of a certain type (sealed, maintenance free, gel cell, etc are common names of this battery type). Regardless of what you're calling it, the important part is that the battery can take damage to the case and not spill its contents.

3) Battery boxes are widely available from your typical racing supply companies. You can use any type of automotive battery inside of one of these housings, and be within the rules for most anything you might participate in. Below is a Jeg's search I just performed, I hope this doesn't break any forum rules in the case that they aren't a paying sponsor!!! Jeg's Search

I came across 4 stupid comments of yours in 5 threads I opened today, congrats!

Did you have a bad day or are you just trying to impress us by being oversmart?

You don't even own an S, so why don't you just calm down and let us be.
Dont you have anything better to do like beat Ferrari's and Carrera GT's in street races?
Or post pictures of your wife ?

I posted an incorrect fact and I was corrected. I admitted it and wasnt trolling. Whats your problem?

The Miata has the battery sitting off to one side of the trunk. It's not really "boxed" in. The early Miatas ('89-'97) had them simply held down securely with a mount and covered with a flimsy piece of interior carpet like trim. The later Miatas ('99-'05) actually have them down in a well of sorts increasing useable trunk space. Again, off to one side and securely mounted to the floor. The '99+ cars though have a particle board covering over that well. Don't see why you couldn't do something similar. I'd still fabricate some sort of panel to protect the battery from objects in the trunk rolling around.
