Looser, the valves will open later and close earlier.

You want them loser. This gives them more duration time to be seated and thus cool through the combustion cycle.

Not looser than the recommended clearance though. Safe to run them on the tightest side of the spec for optimal performance. Only downside to that would be a more regular clearance check/adjustment thereafter but that will still be 10's of 1000's of miles later on.

Makes sense. I vote for if turbod with oem valves keep exhaust valve on looser side of spec and intake valve on tighter side of spec. Not worth the risk of burning up a valve for that extra bit of exhaust efficiency. This should be a definite todo item on any turbo build especially.

As well for anyone who is running an '06 and newer they would be wise to read up on running your exhaust valves at as loose as .012.

I paid about $100 for something from Milwaukee in about 2012. IS useless compared to this.
