I really should do another dyno with my car, I just never got around to it, like many other people Did you do tuning changes when you install the keys, or did you tune the car without the keys, dyno it, then install the keys and dyno it?

I refer to intake then exhaust. -2+1 is minus two degrees on the intake and plus one degree on the exhaust.

The last time I did an install I needed magnification to see the keys adequately.

That is when I realized the degree number imprint is on the left with advance and on the right with retard.

Just retarding the intake cam a degree or two will make a huge difference so these results do appears suspect.

The more I read this, the more I think the picture I made that is posted above is incorrect. Sideways, even though I think you have seen this picture and we have discussed it, please confirm it is correct for everyone. This is the way I have my cam keys installed

Looking at the picture diagram with the keys. Looks like you retarded the exhaust by 2 and advanced the intake by 1.

See it counter clockwise. In the Pic the exhaust key is offset to the right retarding the valve opening -2 and the intake key is offset to the left by 1 so basically its opening 1 degree faster = advanced.

Offset moves the cam in relation to the cam gear. The lower part of the key is the offset. In the diagram above on the exhaust the lower part is offset to the left thus advancing the exhaust cam. On the intake side the lower part of the key is offset to the right thus retarding the cam.

Both cams turn left (counterclockwise.)

So, if the keys were installed exactly as pictured, they are installed wrong?

To pitch in to put in the keys and do 3 dyno runs, it will cost me a tad bit over $160, which in my opinion is a pretty good price, especially from a reputable source.

I have wasted $250+ on this so far, but if enough people are willing to pitch in, I will gladly drive there again next weekend or even during the weekdays (I have half days for the holiday season), put the keys in the other way, and run some more dynos and give you guys a detailed post like before!

However, before we do so, I would appreciate it if sideways can possibly provide a drawing of how it SHOULD be installed, so we can compare them with the picture I have posted and see if we did indeed install them backwards. Like RAIN H8R said, I thought sideways had seen this picture and thought everything was good to go. Maybe there has been a miscommunication somewhere.

EDIT: So if every single person who posted on this page (page 4 only) pitched in about $20 each, it would be $140!

If we can get anything close to that, I can pitch in the rest and do the test! It will be another risk for me since there MIGHT be a chance I may have to pay more to remove them.
