Default centri s2k reliability

I was just wondering how many of you guys would trust driving cross country in remote locations with 12 psi centri setups. I love my current car, but I'm thinking of getting back into an s for the 3rd time because there is nothing like it; however, an sos kit would be absolutely required as the car is slow out the box.

I've found my vortech setup to be pretty much as reliable as I was NA. Only issues over 65k miles I've had are one belt that got shredded from a misaligned pulley(within first month of getting kit on so don't really count this as I just didn't torque pulley down correctly)

Besides that I have had a couple coilpacks blow and I think that is it. Mind you coilpacks would have probably blown NA as well as I now have 193k miles on the stock engine.

Good tune and quality parts and there is no reason it wouldn't be perfectly reliable across country. I would still bring tools and spare belt etc with you. I always carry bunch of tools, extra belt, spark plugs, coilpacks with me now just in case haha.

I unfortunately had a job for an important client that made me commute 4 hours each way 3 times a week for 2 months. I also had to use the car for everything else as my daily died (1996 mazda 626 with over 300k) and i was in the process of getting a new one.

I racked up over 14,000 miles in two months. All i did was change oil and supercharger belt. I only replaced the belt cause its good practice to change every 12-15k But it had no obvious signs of wear.

Moddiction is correct. A properly installed and maintained centrifugal supercharger kit should be as reliable as an OEM NA setup.

I'm with Moddiction and others. Speaking from experience. I drive all over the place and never worry no matter how far away it is.

I've gone 50k with my Vortech kit . The only problem i ever had was one of the Vtec solenoid bolts breaking two times . Other than that it has been bulletproof . I have taken a couple of long road trips with it also .
