I also plan on piecing together a turbo kit off of ebay, but using some pfab parts (Downpipe, IC piping)

I figure tuned I should be in the 3500-4k range as well, and I am aiming for 400whp.

HMFIC, you had the godspeed turbo kit or the inline pro kit???
its real easy,, Boost is not cheap at all, if you go cheap you will end up spending the money anyway fixing all the broken crap they give you. If you really want to go boost.. save up until you have at least 7k-8k or so for a good kit and tuning and other problems that come up. Once you add more power other parts must be relpaced.

I think they use a revhard manifold...the kit actually looks somewhat decent. Turbonetics turbos are not crap, just not the best. the wastegate is the only Item i would be skeptical about.

that certainly is cheap though.

ok call them up and tell them you want the intercooler n the manifold thats it they will do ti for like 700 i was going to do that and order the inline down pipe it matchs. grab a turbo t3 5 bolt style to match the down pipe n piece it together from there i was gonna spend around 2600 when i peiced it from there ALL new stuff besides that dont included aem n a tune so about 1600 on top of that. cheapest you can build.

just saying you can call and order the manifold n inercooler kit from them pretty cheap rather then buying that hole kit alot of it is junk
this is what i did. but i bought it minus the blow off valve, wastegate, and downpipe. and if i remember correctly it was around 1500 for the turbo, manifold, intercooler, charge piping, hardware, lines, etc.

Too pricey, Maybe you should not be going boost. You are going to need to invest more even after you install. Ex... More things to fix once your boosted. Also you need to take into account your stock clutch might not hold up.
