Hah, i had to search for it after you mentioned it, good stuff. I think people just get a little timid when spending a lot of their money that they saved up and end up asking sort of pointless questions! Thanks for the replies everyone, id like to go with a twin disc but I dont really feel like spending $2000 for a clutch, when my torque isnt that high, Im gonna man up and go ahead and buy the ACT HD PP with new oem/flywheel and call it a day.

Thanks everyone for the replies, are you guys using the stock flywheel wheel or a lightweight flywheel? I have a ap1 btw. Also I remember reading some forums stating that the ACT HD PP caused crank walk?? Im guessing this is the crankshaft somehow moving back and forth? Can anyone also shed some light on this question as well? Thanks for helping.
The updated version of the pressure plate does not cause anymore crank walk issues.

Ap1 flywheel is actually very good for boosted setups, just make sure you get it resurfaced.

Though I don't think flywheels always need to be resurfaced, the ap1 I grabbed was nearly perfect.

As for crankwalk, correct, been revised long ago. If you're worried about it over-ride the clutch delay switch or use a button to over-ride it as I did so that cold starts don't affect the thrust washer wear, this greatly reduces total thrust washer wear in the life of the motor.

True, I'd just like to be as safe as possible until I build the motor (hopefully, next year if my money permits). But how does the over ride save the thrust washers? Isnt the pressure plate applying pressure when the clutch is engaged, so that when you push the pedal and release the clutch, you are taking pressure off of the crankshaft?

There's been a few studies on the topic, they showed that 70-80% of wear on thrust washers occurs doing cold starts, perhaps because of a lack of oil lubrication for a moment.

When you press on the clutch you're wearing the trust washers, it's a push to pull but that matters not, the thrust washers take the pressure regardless. The pressure is transferred greatly when you push in on the clutch uses the crank to push against.

In any case, I did the mod to alleviate this so that I can start the engine with the car in neutral and the clutch not depressed. To accomplish this safely I put a mildly hidden button that I hold along with the regular start button on the car.

Clutchmasters stage 4 6 puck ftw although you don't need this clutch for that type of power level. Act with stock clutch disc would be awesome for you

Anyone know where the best place to get the act hdpp is? Also, why the ap1 flywheel out of curiousity (being that I have an ap2)?

14lbs vs 22lbs

I much prefer the lighter ap1 fly though it didn't make a huge difference it was just noticeable.
