Hey Kangaroo that looks good!
questions. are you in a warmer climate, was it difficult to remove/replace for maintenance, did it lower ait?
A little

Curious, I'm running a aftercooler with a larger heat exchanger. I'm just wondering if using an intake will create power, not by colder intake temps but through reverberation, similar to what it does to a N/A.

Anyone have any facts on doing a CAI on a SC with back to back comparison on a dyno?

I've heard just a heat sheild around the filter alone lowers the IAT by 40 degrees.

Tested with and without a airbox on the Vortech. Saw much lower IAT and more boost with it on

I'd like to run a bigger and better filter and there's no room in that area without relocating it to the bumper (atleast without removing the airbox)

Did you use Vortech's crappy airbox? How would you make that box more efficient at repelling heat? Maybe goldwrap?

Yes, That airbox box and the small filter is ALOT better then a bigger filter with no airbox. Back to back tests the IAT and boost were dramatic. I strongly suggest people have some type of protection from hot air

I don't know about wrap, reflective tape, etc. Just dont ingest hot air

I don't remember the #'s off hand, it was done last year. I have a airbox with vortech filter (dirty at the time too). My friend has the same setup without the airbox but a AEM dry filter. He drove around, and logged the IAT and psi #'s, did a few WOT tests. Went back to the garage and swapped my airbox onto his setup and went out and did the exact same thing.

We were making more boost and had lower IAT. Testing was done within 15-20 minutes of each other.

Water/meth injection ftw. Instantly cold IAT's. According to my serial gauge the second it starts spraying iat's can go from 110 or so to 50-60. Never have heat soak issues. I love it!
