ARE THERE ANY PROBLEMS USING A K&N SHORT RAM INTAKE INSTEAD OF A COLD AIR SYSTEM.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Tampa Bay Dyno Day

Check this link

I dynoed 207hp with a short ram intake made for a civic and resonatorless stock exhaust. Go for it When you get to the dyno page Click on the pic underneath the Harley truck, it's a board with the breakdown of everybody's dyno #'s that day in 100 degree heat and humidity.

Here in FL we get heat soak no matter what style of intake you use. Is a cold air intake really a cold air intake when the filter is placed inches above 200 degree pavement?

Short ram is an "Hot air intake" NFG.

He was saying that a short ram would get heat soak. Here in FL you get heat soak no matter what. Even if you had a AEM style long cold air intake with the filter down low in front of the right front wheel you still get 200 degree pavement heat soak, that was my point.

Try something like a G.D. or AUT.cooling plate with a good low restriction filter,(JR etc..)and tell me about it,even in 100* westher in Florida.(+ you get ram air effect at speed )
BTW,you cannot dyno a CAI,while your car is standing still;even if you have a leaf blower,in front of it.!!!
