Default Comptech SC and Starter

I think I already know the answer to this question, but and I'm hoping I'm wrong. My starter is starting to grind when turning on the car.

Do I have take off the supercharger in order to remove the starter? It's such a PITA. If I can change my starter without touching the SC I would be so happy.

Is this the terrible "gear grinding" noise when you first turn on the car, particularly in colder weather? Doesn't happen when the car is warmed up.

If you can get to the upper starter bolt without completely removing the blower bracket, then you should be good. If I recall correctly, you will need to remove one of the alternator bolts so that you can swing out the alternator.

You do not need to remove the SC or mount plate, but you may need to loosen it so you can shift the one intake end up out of the way, obviously removing two of the bolts on the other side will need to be done to swivel it up. You will definitely need to remove the after cooler to access that starter bolt and really make room to be able to remove the alternator and get to the starter itself.

Ohh maybe it will be easy since I have a custom setup. I don't run an AC.
