the SC power is manageable. I gave a modified C5 hell at TMS over the weekend.

fyi: to all that will or want to buy a SC or go with FI. I burnt my clutch with in 30 days of installation. You can upgrade the clutch and leave the SC installed. It may take the shop longer than normal to do the job, but it can be left installed.

Upgrade the clutch before you go FI. My down time was 1 day. I was lucky the shop jumped right on it, in a heart beat.

I am running ACT PP, OEM disk and toda flywheel. I have not heard any vibrating noices from the flywheel. It is easy to get up and going, so what you here about light weight flywheels has not happened to me, yet.

now that the clutch is doing its job and planting power, I am affraid my rear end is next. So now I am ordering the comptech reinforced rear end and I will do ricks 4.3 or 4.44 gears at the same time.

I can't speak for comptech but with the vortech.....YES.

I had a few mishaps and found a few interesting observations along the way.
1. My intake rubber connection between the blower and intercooler slipped loose somehow. At iddle there is aldready a fair amount of air leaking from it aldready.
2. I wont go in detail but my car ran low cam only for a week (after Vortech SC installation) until midway through dyno. I had my car dynoed there before with AEM and VAFC. The power on the dyno while in low cam (up to 9krpm) is a lot more than the original graph with the mentioned mods. The power came on earlier as well.

Auss2k is right you can feel the extra KICK in at around 3krpm-ish

cmis2k is right again do the clutch upgrade first. While you are there tell the installer to lock the old flywheel and loosen the crank shaft pulley for you. I got my installer to do this for me and it saved a lot of effort.
(Who ever said that they was able to loosen the bolt with crank start most likely have not worked on the S2k.....we tried everything at a friend's garage without any success It wasn't my idea of doing it that way but it was the last resort and I was itchy to start the installation)

I was wondering if the 4.3's were even worth it.

I have made any purchases yet... there is a back order or lack of 4.44's right now.

CmiS2k, I'll let you know when I get my 4.44 installed.
I am still waiting for my interstate trip to get it cryoed before I pop it in.

Hate to brag, but I got my crank pulley bolt out on about 10 minutes.

Of course I spent the better part of a day running around to get the parts and manufacture a tool to arrest the crank. And I had to use some steel tube to extend the breaker bar and a good deal of force to undo it.

zong777,

you maybe able to light up the rear tires by upgrading your stock clutch.

Now that have an upgraded clutch, ACT PP, OEM disk, Toda flywheel, I light the tires up on a roll on in 1st gear. The power is being planted much more efficiently now. Of course I am SC.

Yes but your bolt is probably loosen from too much on the track

It costed me $AUD 20 too for the boys to lock my fly wheel and undo the bolt when I got them to change my clutch/fw/pp. They said it's the hardest bolt they had to undo. They used 3 ppl to do the job and almost give up.

BTW Vortech kit should have come with this

"Intercooler water spray"[

The bottom nozzle looks a little wierd...will get it fix tomorrow.
I am ready for summer

My '00 S2K is completely stock. On the way home from work today I was just over 8.5 K in sixth gear, the speedo read 150MPH when I lifted. Conditions were perfect cool temperature slight decline in the grade, straight line... Anyway published top speed is 146. Is it possible I exceeded the published top speed or is my speedo off?
