Has anyone talked to someone from Vortech who knows about the S2000 and confirmed or denied the fact that the kit does not work on an '03? If so did they give an ETA for the next version?

Our speedo is not accurate, particularly at those speeds. At 9000 rpm in 6th, the car calculates out to be 166 mph. 150 mph at 8.5 K rpm seems a bit wierd. Perhaps your clutch was slipping a bit too. I'm sure any "published" top speed will have been done with precise equipment like radar or GPS or a timed known distance.

80-90% confirmed by Vortech
They are working on the 03 model at the moment

Evolution has installed vortech into a 03 without any prob.

you maybe able to light up the rear tires by upgrading your stock clutch.

Now that have an upgraded clutch, ACT PP, OEM disk, Toda flywheel, I light the tires up on a roll on in 1st gear. The power is being planted much more efficiently now. Of course I am SC.
Do you have stock gears?

I currently have stock rear gears although as soon as I can budget the cost of comptech rear end, 4.44 rear gears and installation. $1500-$2000(includes comptech core charge) I will be upgrading.

from my understanding 4.44 rear gears is equivalent to bolting on a SC, as far as acceleration is concerned. Not power but acceleration.

not even close from an acceleration standpoint.. The supercharger provides lots more acceleration on it's own... The 444's make it feel stronger down low naturally but the supercharger is where the sweetness is...best i can describe it is it's like icing a cake whether you'd SC or not. I've driven mine both ways.

FYI i drive mine in traffic a lot...if I lived out in the bushes where i was doing lots of high speed driving...then i wouldn't have put in the 444's, just the sc.

anyway thats my opinion,

most repectfully

If you really MUST have a precise speedo (and odo), the answer is YES! You can get the Yellow Box. Rick's sells it (~$100.00). Get your car paced by a police car that has had it's speedo recently calibrated and certified. Then determine (over two different speeds, say 30 mph and 50 mph) the error and use the YB to correct it. It is NOT permanent if you don't want it to be. However, be warned that some jurisdictions may consider the Yellow Box as odometer tampering.

I would go with vortech just because you can put a blow off valve on it and it comes with a supercooler
