Default comptech supercharger pulley upgrades?

I am going to put a front mount on my car and have read more then once that it lowers to boost so I was thinking of getting a 8psi pulley and have no idea what it would be with the front mount but has anyone had any problems with doing this and not changing anything but the pulley? I have nothing to tune with and maybe later going with a aem ems but not right now and don't want probs with this thing. Going with ScienceofSpeed for the pulley and they have many to pick from. any help would be great thanks.

If this helps anyone here is a link to there site with pulley specs

Go with a 4.0 inch pulley or a 4.2. Non aftercooled I made 8.5 lbs of boost with a 4.2. So with the pressure loss (probably around 2 lbs) you should be around 7-8ish. Its really hard though untill you actually go and put it on.

Why not put the front mount on and see where the pressure is at and then we would have a better idea of what to use?

If you haven't done it already...
Check out ASP pulleys they have a high shoulder on them to prevent the belt from flying off and shredding. Well made several of the higher HP cars use them..

ASP is far superior. Better fit and finish.

I am going to strongly disagree. I own BOTH an ASP 4" pulley and an SOS 3.6" pulley. I am VERY impressed with the quality of the SOS pullies. They are nicely finished, have the little lip on the edge, the pulley is also clearly labeled with the size and application...I liked that. I suggest getting the best price...do not worry about the quality of the SOS pulley. They are well made.

They may have improved the item since my exposure several years ago. This is good.

ok thanks for all the help but has anyone tried to upgrade with out changing anything but the pulley? I just want to know what type of probs if any people where having with a 8-10 psi pulley and not changing anything? I have no EMS or for that matter even a vafc so I don't want to cause fuel issues of any sort with this pulley. Yes later I am doing a AEM ems but not till later. I don't really care to much for killer power yet.

i would not get a smaller pulley if you haven't already purchased larger injectors and someway to tune it... you are just asking for problems. At least get a wideband to see how lean your A/F's are when your motor pops or scores a bore... I would go EMS with injectors and a tune... but if you can't or don't want to get one, go for a emanage etc.. and get that professionally tuned.
