OP - This is a dyno chart from when I was still NA. Pink is bone stock baseline. Blue is bolt-ons (intake/header/HFC/exhaust). Red is same bolt-ons tuned with the VAFC to lower VTEC and marginally lean out the top end. Note the gains in the mid-range where VTEC used to engage prior to the VAFC, the smoother/more linear curve, and the reduced fall-off near redline.

I would image the gains would be more pronounced with FI.
