I'd really appreciate your opinions on the piston clearance for the CP 11.5 stock bore pistons clearance.

The paper that came with the pistons says 0.0030 and my mechanic recommended 0.0035

the car is stock with the exception of the CP pistons + BC Rods & I'll be using AEM ECU

Cp pistons will not work on a stock s2 frm sleeves. You need new sleeves

S2000 sleeves are made out of frm, the only aftermarket piston you can run that I can think of off the top of my head are mahle frm pistons. I wouldn't even mess with frm stuff and have either benson or darton sleeves installed

yeah the machine shop is installing cast iron sleeves as we speak
so the pistons are good to go

 

Always go with what the piston manufacturer suggests for clearance. Their materials, their design, and their testing have all been taken into account when they include that spec.

 

the problem is that the pistons spec sheet does not state the power which this clearance is used with.

is it true that with higher power you need more p2w clearance?

could it be that the higher compression pistons, comes with tighter recomended clearance because it is assumed to be ran on NA setups?
