Default Daily Drivability of the S

so my AEM EMS along with the UEGO and 550cc injectors arrived along with the 9psi pulley. i'm planning on getting it put on and dyno tuned soon. my concern is the street drivability of the S after raising the boost. how does the car idle and how does the car drive under normal condition?

The driveablity will all depend on how good the tune is.

I've been driving a turbo S for 2 weeks every day without any problem, at double the boost #. The car also has many hours of tuning in it.

Car will drive just like stock if tuned right. How much boost you run has nothing to do with how "every day driveable" the car is.

I've been driving for about a month now with the new pulley, AEM EMS, and 550cc. It ran like crap at first because I was still running the Comptech ESM. With it removed and retuned, it drives just like stock. A good tuner should get it to run just like stock. Mine idles right at 1000rpm.

Going on 2 years under 11 psi and everything's fine. I cracked 2 valve retainers, replaced'em all with Ti parts, and the engine's held up great. I have... 40-50,000? ( somewhere around that ) kms in 2 years under boost...

I've run 7 to over 16 lbs with a Vortech supercharger and AEM EMS. The car has been totally streetable in all configurations.
If your AEM EMS is tuned correctly the car will drive better than stock under all driving conditions.

Welcome to the AEM EMS club. Quick question, why 550s?
you are right. i've had the car tuned tonight, and i think it was a really good tune, because my car now drives smoother than stock. i'm loving it.

why 550's? i dont really know. the reason i went with 550's because the guy from Science of Speed recommended them. h that's what they had in the SOS car. i was originally thinking of 440's, but i guess 550's wont hurt either since i have the AEM EMS to fine tune it.

Yesterday I saw a new car from toyota Europe in a magazine. He the sportier cororolla caries the 1.8 VVti engie from the toyota celica, 190 CV and a 11.5 compresion ratio. Now there is a new model toyota Corolla Compressor, using the SAME engine, no internal modification, and COMPRESSION and boosting 7 psi. if a manufacter is going to sell this car and with 3 year warranty it is another proof that high compresion and boost can work together. The recipe is simple: hours of tuning
