Does a Comptech SC KIt feel fast?

So one other question. Gears or Comptech SC?? Which would be more of a performance increase? Would assume the SC but maybe I am wrong?
They are different. Gears are going to make the car accelerate faster, but not make anymore power.

The SC is going to make the car faster by adding power, not changing the rate at which the car accelerates.

Does that make sense?

Yeah It does and I know that one makes power and one changes the gearing thus making it accelerate faster. But which one will provide more of a performance gain? Meaning which one will accelerate fast? Or do better quarter mile etc? I guess the gears would most likely give a better 1/4 mile and off the line performance and the SC would be better on the highway?

When you are the driver you need a REALLY fast car to feel the push you back in your seat feeling.

As a passenger you will feel it more though, I find the stock S2k slow as b**ls as a driver I always want more power, but as a passenger on a track / auto-x it always feels fast.

Yeah I agree. I let me friend drive my car the other day and felt pretty fast again being a passenger. My dsm really give you that stuck in your seat feeling. I guess those are just made for alot more torque even then a turbo'd S2000.
I think I am buying a Comptech SC kit tomorrow for $2500 shipped including a 9 psi pulley and new belt. It is non aftercooled, but still sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. Anything I should be aware of before getting it?
I guess it gets it's oil from the oil pan or do I change the oil in the sc separately? I don't need to relocate the oil filter with an sc do I?
Anyone know where a good write up and detailed info on the Comptech kit is?

No need to relocate the oil filter.

It gets oil from the VTEC oil feed and drains into the pain at the drain plug.

See if the seller has an original Comptech parts list and make sure he has everything you need. All belts, bolts, hoses, ESM, etc.

Do a search, the oil question is basic stuff. Comptech does not require tapping oil pan, vortech does. Change engine oil and you change SC oil.

Searching will tell you the ins and outs of the comptech kit etc.

Most people don't take the fuel pumps out. If he doesn't, you'll need to get a 255lph walbro.

You asked about performance. I had a stock 7psi vortech and it was pretty dam fast. Watch this video and decide for yourself. A supercharged car will kick the s*** out of a N/A s2000. Beware, once you go supercharged, you will never go back. That is why I want a Kraftwerks kit.

QFT - you will not be able to run the 9 psi pulley on an otherwise stock motor. Unless the kit also includes engine management and injectors, make sure the seller has the original comptech pulley (6 psi) or an AP2 pulley (7 psi).

Also, make sure he has the stock airbox assembly. My kit came used without the airbox and I've had a hell of a time trying to find one. Even Comptech doesn't have them in stock right now.

FYI on the oil change - Comptech SC DIY oil change
