Yes, definitely keep the 6 speed manual and no auto.

i think he meant the CFT reply..but I am glad the thread is back. Let's continue to post up some pics of the stock unit as well. I am hoping we can get some domestic solutions reasonably priced with readily available parts...so far we got the motor, rear and axles covered. There are options and they continue to grow. We need the same results for the transmission. I am not a big fan of doing a complete swap to a somewhat automatic. I believe it loses the feel of the s2000 completely, so I really would love to get a six speed solution...
I was contemplating auto at one point. Just nice at times to hit the gas and go
but a converter is probably too much of a dog for the street off boost

Another option would be a rear mounted transaxle.

Interested, six speed gears would work for me. Still saving for the IP diff setup.

Mine will be paid off soon and I'm looking into a Quaife 15G and custom prop shaft mounted to a puddymod. Yes, pricey. But with the stuff I'll be doing to the rest, the last thing I want is to have an expensive project car constantly in the shop w/ tranny failure. And you can find used ones for sale from time to time. Good thing about the 15G is they're easy to service.

I would be very intrested in a cheaper dog box. Well as long as the company putting them out was understanding to there own defects. I would hate to have to choke a shop owner for not owning up.

You are right, buying a C5 transaxle assembly woulld be super nice but not for the faint of heart to install unless someone did some serious engineering.

Yeah, I think the gas tank and some other things would be in the way. Talk about some major engineering and cost involved. I'm willing to bet the price for that would exceep $10k.
