Do they make a version with straight cut gears? They would be stronger.

I would put a Quaife 60G 6 speed sequential box in. Easy to setup flat shifting with a load cell on the gear lever interfacing into an AEM.

Geartronics even offer a paddle shift system that even blips the throttle on downshifts.

They offer a drop in fitting kit for a 350Z so they should handle most F20C outputs.

a sequential box would be just sweet

However, this one is only good to 400ft lb. 500-600hp s2000 will be very close to those torque figures. And 500-600hp S2k's are now as common as stock S2000's

A TKO-600 is rated at 600ft lb for about $2500 from summit racing. Yes it has to be fitted and worked to rev to 9K but this Quaife has to be fitted as well...?

They always worked great on all the 5.0's back in the day. They are also closer to the S2000 transmission size.

I would fork out, 3-4K to switch over if someone was able to make it integrate nicely.

Yes i did some loose measurements and it didn't seem to measure up that bad. What's cool is that the shifter you can flip it 180 degrees to make it sit closer to the factory Honda location which I think it was off by not even 1/2"

This is the info and cost i had gotten back then when i talked to Liberty:

TKO's will not shift well above 6K Rpm so synchros will have to be face plated which means double clutching is necessary for normal driving around.
However, when racing all you have to do is keep on the gas and tap the clutch lightly and blast it into gear. Since synchros are face plated, blasting it into gear will be a breeze.

$2400 for TKO 600

Labor Cost
face plating with micro polishing =$2596
Add cryogenic treatment (add 150 ft lb torque) = $200
Add shot peening (add 50 ft lb torque) = $50

(This will increase overall torque capacity to 800 ft lb torque)
Total Labor cost =$2846

Accessories cost
Cost to make bellhousing adapter = $375
Cost to make longer input shaft =$305
Cost to make clutch spline no cost
Cost to build trans collar to Honda specs collar
to keep fork and throwout bearing =$120

Total Labor cost + accessories = $3646

Overall cost with trans = $6046

Those "accessory" numbers are grossly under priced. And you forgot trans mount, driveshaft, and shifter. Add another $1000 for that. And you are probably a good $500-$1000 short on your "accessory" number at least.

Oh no its expensive when speaking about it , but ppg im seeing is the only good way . Some frankstien tremec that really is not tested in our cars doesnt sound like a better option . I would rather spend the money on a purpose built transmission that could hold everything I throw at it , but no company is going to build one for a car that so few drag race for very cheap.
