I have the Cobra 8.8 IRS from Laivins Race Cars. Eaton carbon-based clutch-type diff really likes mineral (non-synthetic) Valvoline 80W gear oil with a full tube of Trans-X LSD additive - Eaton specifies mineral/dino oil instead of synthetic for this setup. Their recommended formula eliminated low-speed clunk/grind that I had with Mobil 1 and a tube of Trans-X. It was a harsher clunking than when I had a Honda diff with OS Giken and also a Cusco RS - their low-speed chatter was livable. Eaton's carbon disk definitely make a louder noise than the OSG & Cusco if you don't give it the lube it likes. Love my 8.8 now. All good.
