Elevation and tuning

Only an absolute pressure gauge which measures both atmospheric pressure (14.7psi @ sea level) and boosted supercharger pressure can indicate an elevation change." >>> does this make sense? I'm not sure why I found this interesting, I see total psi variances on my Map signal and started the above questions. So either air pressure sensors (like ours) are effected? or he is talking about a different "boost gauge" ?? or I'm seeing variances from another variable.
