Default Exhaust Temp with Comptech SC

Ok, so the search feature on the boards is cooked right now. All I get is java script errors.

My question is what is a good range for my exhaust temps? I have that Brockway engineering R900 that Xviper pointed me to so I have been looking at stuff

I took some readings at 70 degree's and at 90 degree's just to see what the difference was... there wasn't one really so I won't go there.

Taken at 90 degree's outside temp after 30 minutes of driving.

At idle my temps went up to 195-200 degrees when stationary more than 2 minutes.

Casual stop and go driving my temps were pretty steady at 175-180 degrees.

On the highway for 20 miles of 80mph 170 degrees.

Lead footed hard driving 175-190 degrees. Big range, think it was just dependant on if I hit traffic. I wasn't about to look at the thing too much while flooring it... I like living.

From my limited experience I'd says these temps are fairly good. I think the absolute hottest in the 4 days I've been monitoring it the hotest I've seen was 205 degrees after high excelleration then hitting traffic. Then it came back down to 200 after 3-5 minutes.

Thoughts?

Are you refering to ECT on the brockway? ECT stands for engine coolant temp. ECT is not EGT or exhaust gas temp.

170-200 is a normal operating range for the ECT.

I don't remember. I'll plug it again on my way to work tomorrow and find out

I'm only saying this because there is no EGT sensor on any Honda product. Therefore it wouldn't be in the OBDII datalist.
