I have a Greddy EBC and have it set/tuned for 8psi. When I took the car out for a test drive and got on it, it stuck at 8psi. I would assume that I would be loosing pressure had I not be hitting 8psi?

Does the very loud sucking noise sound like a howl? This is going to sound funny but it actually sounds like an owl hooting
not only that, but it would run terrible with that kind of a boost leak. Unmetered air ftl....

I was thinking about it tonight, and I think I figured the noise out. I believe the turbine is spinning fast enough to break up the intake charge, but not fast enough to produce boost . It's like a WWII air raid siren. That's assuming you have the same noise as me, and it only occurs at slow speeds around 2500rpm. It's a steady noise that varies with RPM.

Definitely sounds like the same noise. I would agree and also compare it to a siren.

it's the piping design.. slight howl is normal.

It's probably resonance from the intake tube. Blow on the top of a pop bottle, you'll get the same effect.

My old 300zx did the same thing when I removed the intake resonator.

also a Z32 owner.

I think a slight change in the air filter shape would change it.

Agreed with above, resonance of the intake on decel. If you have a fellow non-turbo s2k owner who lives near by (especially if they have a carbon fiber or vented hood) take the lid off of their stock air-box and get on it up to 5k or so and let off. You will hear a loud "howling" sort of sound from the engine decel being megaphoned back out the intake piping. With all the metal piping of the greddy kit I would expect it to be louder.

Only way to get rid of the intake sucking and decel roaring would be to build some sort of sound chamber around the intake filter, think along the lines of the FIPK, but with a larger hole to the fender well to accommodate the extra air needed by the turbo.

It actually does make the sound on accel as well, just not as much. You are right though, as you mentioned it seems to do it at 15km on accel also, is this normal?
It has done it since day one on mine also
