Right, for all S2000s, though, regardless of year, you need to trim the undertrays just to make room for all the piping being routed. But the actual ap2 bumper itself does not need to be trimmed.

And just to clarify, so people don't freak out, the crash bar doesn't need to be removed for the intercooler to fit, only the small chassis brace right behind it.

OK...

Before I get into the dyno plots, please note I was tuned on a DynoLog. These dynos read real low when compared to dynojets, mustang dynos, dynapacks, etc. Please do your research before flaming my plots. I dont want this thread turned into a numbers bashing contest.

The shop I choose was Mavrik Motorsports down in Fullerton, CA. John, aka Jesus, came highly recommended by a fellow member here. To me it was either tune with Church or Jesus.... but since we all goto Church to see Jesus the choice was obvious.

Besides the greddy kit my other mods include
-Mugen AP2 exhaust
-Berk Test Pipe w/ extra bung
-Boost controller with Gain set at 5% and the SET at 8.5psi

With all that said, here's the first plot.

The blue line is the stock greddy base map and the red line is my final tune. I got the same vtec dip that others have posted which must mean I did my install right! But in all seriousness, I really didn't feel the dip during driving. I can say for sure that after my tune 6k to vtec feels insane! Jesus took about 10-15 dyno pulls just to smoothen out the vtec dip before it was all done.

Here's a plot by of the final tune by itself with PSI and AF. Unfortunately the stock greddy basemap is not included here, but Jesus was able to make more power with 1psi less and leaned out the basemap by 0.5 over all. I can say that on the first run with the stock basemap, the AF ratio was still rich enough with my test pipe in but again, if you decide to run one, please do so at your own risk.

So, this is the simulated dynapack plot of the final tune.

Overall I am very impressed with Mavrik Motorsports and Jesus. I still haven't had enough time to drive around with my new tune so I really dont have any concrete impressions. Until then, enjoy!

I keep looking around, but am getting mixed answers.

Can one just buy the greddy turbo kit, install it, and have a quick reliable s2000 without buying another 100 parts and headaches? I keep hearing you need spark plugs, this, that and the other. I just want a kit, I can install, and forget about, while getting an extra 70whp. Is it LITERALLY plug and play?

I've had to buy a couple gaskets (I'm not even sure if I'll need them since I'm only about 1/2 through with the install). I've bought gauges, Teflon tape, a test pipe and will be doing a custom exhaust. Its recommended that you get 1 step colder spark plugs. But if you want to run it out of the box It comes with with 98% of what you'll need.

So tonight I took of the headers.. kind of a pain in the ass. Thank god for Liquid Wrench!!! I put in the turbo, manifold, front mount, and connected the DP it to the cat. Installing the manifold and down pipe was pretty tough. Hard to get your hand in places and the bolts on the manifold are really hard to get at. Eventually I figured out how to do it. The stay bracket that attaches the down pipe to the engine won't line up . I'm going to try a to find a way to bend the stock bracket.

I'm a little bummed the AEM oil pressure gauge sensor seems like its to big to fit in the 1/8th hole....

Tomorrow I'm having my BOV welded on and will continue doing the install. I think the hardest part is over.... I hope.

Ok, so....buy the kit, buy some spark plugs, buy some oil, and go, right? I don't really need gauges right away. I guess I can get a boost gauge just to make sure that I am boosting the correct amount, but that can be installed after I presume. I just can't stand when someone provides a "kit", and you then have to spend another $2000 so your car doesn't explode.

I don't want to get it tuned. I am not going to "up" the kit. I am not getting a test pipe, I don't race civics, I don't care about getting another 10 extra hp, etc. However, reading through some threads about bogging, backfiring, etc shows me that the base map is not that great. Has Greddy fixed this issue so the car runs smoothly like stock, or is it going to spit fireballs while I get 8mpg?

This seems to me the perfect kit for the s2k, as it has minimal headaches, while filling in the missing piece of what the s2000 always lacked.

Do we for the most part agree with the above statements?

Kix,

Has this shop dyno'd a NA S2000 specifically? If you can get a hold of that, that would probably paint a better picture as you can actually see the delta between the two graphs..

my guess is a stock s2000 should come in around anywhere from 175-195 on this dyno, depending on mods, tune, conditions, etc, as the greddy kit is expected to net 60-80whp.

^^ not going to quote your post, but i agree that potential greddy turboers 1) should get the kit custom tuned 2) expect to pay more than just the cost of the base kit
