NFRs2000NYC,

You should be able to drive around with just the base tune. Problem is that the stock exhaust is not designed for FI and the greddy kit was tuned on a 80mm exhaust. The LEAST I would do is to get it on a dyno to get your AF checked out and to see if the power curve looks normal.

I can say tho that going with a Testpipe and a rather stock exhaust (like my mugen) you can achieve similar if not better results to a 80mm cat back exhaust w/ stock cat.

Bottom line, the least I would reccomend for the kit is
-Greddy Turbo
-Boost controller (good since you get a boost gauge and controller)
-Oil pressure gauge (only because I dont have much faith in the return line to the drain bolt since its possible a rock could slice a hole or it could come off the hose barbs.
-Dyno run (make sure power and af are in check)

Do you have gears? Just wondering because it says "gear : 4" unless that means something else.

How will elevation effect this kit? For example if Greddy made the basemap in LA and I live in Denver, is it still going to be safe?

that probably means the run was done in 4th gear.

Got a question about the Greddy boost controller, is it possible to turn down the boost to 3-4 psi or less? and have a "safe" ride if someone else would be driving the car for instance?

or turn the boost down on a heavy track day..

OR does the "tuned" emanage run crappy on a lower boost setting than the setting it was tuned on?

Thanks!

If you have ever tuned a car, you will see that the boost goes in columns.

So if the Greddy e-manage is tuned for, 8 psi, lets say, that means it is tuned for 2 pi, 4 psi, 6 psi, etc. depending on what incraments the basemap is set up for.

So to answer the question, yes it will be tuned for 4 psi as well.

The part of your question I can't answer is regarding the boost control. I'm not sure if an internally gated turbo has any limit it can go down to like externally wastegated turbos.

So my final answer is: Yes it's safe, assuming it's physically possible to get the boost that low.

you would have to change the spring on the wastegate to lower the psi! Not sure what greddy (chris) provides for that!

I think you need to get back on the dyno.

does not look correct that with your boost creeping up to 9 lbs you are only setting at 300whp (according to your simulated dynapack graph)

Supercharged I am hitting 316.7 whp (8K) at only 6.5/5.7 psi pre/post vtec on a (Dyno dynamics)

however my A/F are 11.8 at redline and my EGT's are 100C lower then stock.
