cast iron, cast steel = same thing.

Cast is cheaper, easier to replicate, and generally more reliable.

Before anyone comments on the latter - failure of cast would be a design or materials defect, failure of the welded tube steel could be one of those or human error (the assembler/welder). In my business 95% of all errors are post design human errors. The other 5% are pre-design or sub-supplier "human errors"

Had a problem over here in the Uk yesterday with the Greddy kit. Basically normal kit installed but with 750 RC's ,3mm head gasket, 3 bar map sensor and Hondata k-pro. Mase was over doing the tuning for me.

Car would hit 14psi but then just drop right off. By 9k it was only holding 9psi and the torque had just fallen through the floor. It would hold full boost for a couple of seconds, i was making about 200lb torque nice and early but was just falling on its face after that. Was only hitting about 230whp

No obvious boost leaks or gasket leaks. We just all sort of just kept looking at it not to sure what was going on.

Anybody got any ideas or had any similar problems with the kits? Maybe an actuator problem or turbo seal issue? Gonna have to strip it all down and have a proper look.

was the throttle closing causing boost to drop or was it the turbo? Perhaps the wastegate rod doesn't come from Greddy tensioned to make 14 psi? That would be simple enough to adjust and test. How are you controlling boost?

Boost is being controlled by Blitz SBC boost controller.

Throttle wasnt closing at all, just wouldnt hold peak boost through the rev range.

You thinking it could be because of all the back pressure?
