Greddy Turbo Questions thread....

That's because the answer is ALWAYS the same!
Yes it's a plug and play. But that doesn't mean it's automatically 100% safe on every car to go WOT out of the box. That option is up to each owner to decide. It's your own car. The basemaps run "good" on some cars, and not on others. If you want the tune to run "great" then it's the consensus that you should get it retuned to your specific car and setup.
Again, whether you want to go 100% throttle is your choice. For some people, they could floor it just fine on the basemap, others, had trouble with the basemaps just going slow.***Every car is different*** The advice to get a tune is probably everyone's option to err on the side of caution. No one wants to be the person to tell you that YES you can floor it and then have you blame them later since your motor blew. You just have to use your best judgement.
***My personal opinion** is that if you run the same setup as what the greddy kit was tested with (it has been posted many times), then you will likely be safe running the car to redline @ WOT out of the box. But there are so many variables: what fuel octane you use (depending on where you are in the country, or world for that matter), elevation level, extraneous mods (internals, test pipe, etc) and just plain differneces in the stock motor (a 150,000 mi motor vs. a 2,000 mi motor might run differently)....to name a few.

I have been WOT to red line a few times, other then spinning the tires, I am very happy
Hey, another couple of questions...
I have crank vents on my car right now...can I keep them in the same location/hoses?
Also, if I want to get the AEM UEGO, where would I plug it in? Would I need to get a test pipe with two bungs on it? One for the OEM sensor, and one for the AEM?
Also, what's the consensus on the spark plugs? I know we need one step colder, and NGKs, does anyone have the model number for these plugs?

2. My sensor is plugged into the testpipe. Any machine shop could weld an extra bung into your piping somewhere.
3. I don't know much about spark plugs
Ok another question:
Some people are saying since you already have the BASEMAP, it is very easy for the tuner to adjust it and get a good tune of of it and it would save a lot of time since you don't need to start from scratch..
But other people are saying the emanage is locked for tuning, and when you get the unlocking code from greddy, you will lose the basemap on the ultimate and you need to start from scratch to make a good tune..
Whats up with this? is this true? is it possible to unlock the ultimate, then if someone has a base tune, upload the basemap to the ultimate and start the new tune from the uploaded basemap.. ( saves a lot of time for the tuner )
Or is there no other way and does my tuner need to start from scratch?
