Honestly, I'm only looking to get a conservative 100HP to fill in that low range that we are missing in NA.

Also, I'd like to use that PLM mani since S2Knoob has put over 7000 miles on his and countless pulls, but the turbo is by far the deal breaker.

Knowing that I only want about 350HP, what are your thoughts for a decently priced turbo that would fit my PLM?

Thanks all

I think you have two options:
1.) Run it as is and don't expect great performance or reliability (probably the cheapest option)
2.) Sell:
  • PLM mani and associated piping,
  • Godspeed t4 twin scroll(I think) turbo,
  • Intercooler - brand ?? - NIB
  • RC 1000 injectors - NIB
  • Type RS BOV - new
  • EMUSA Racing wastegate - NIB
  • various clamps, piping, and crap - NIB
Keep:
  • AEM ECU - used
  • Omnipower 3 bar MAP sensor - NIB
I broke it down that way for a reason. If you go buy a turbo kit from someone reputable (PTuning, PFab, Full Race, Kings, etc.), it will come with every part in the sell category except for the injectors. It's easier, cheaper, and faster to get a complete kit with good parts than to mix and match components from multiple kits. I said to sell the RC 1000 injectors because those would be a nightmare for tuning and drivability. Their 650's (~450-500 whp) seem to be the limit of easy tuning and good drivability, otherwise something like the ID 1000's would be the way to go.

Tim
Thanks for the feedback Tim. Good info here.

I think I'll be selling a chunk of these new parts and dialing it back a tad since my power goals are pretty low for FI(apparently), don't need 500HP(not yet at least).

Really sounds like you should be using a Greddy kit, or even better a Supercharger setup. There's really no need for any of this garbage you bought to achieve your goals. Trust me the headaches and downtime associated with a shit setup are not worth it at all.

A SOS stage 1 supercharger kit is all you need, it's a bolt on affair, no relocations needed at all and has room to grow once you get sick of 350whp. It provides near oem levels of reliability and is a much better fit for you.

If you put this trash on your car be prepared for nightmares.

I agree. If all you want is 350 hp, do a SOS supercharger kit and call it good.

Turbo and sc are totally different feels. If your set on turbo stick with it.

This...

It would be cool to see what a GTX28 with a .82 housing would do. Instant spool and will most likely flow enough to reach 370+ whp. Get yourself some ID1000's and some quality wastegates and your set.

I agree, but they're also totally different levels of headache and expense.

Supercharger at low power levels feel like a laggy turbo without big power...

What you you think about this, Garrett-GT3076R? I could get it with the .82 A/R and the T3 Divided (.82 / 1.06 A/R only) housing.

I'll sell my RC1000s and get some ID 1000s. Then figure out a new BOV and WG.

Honestly All, this crap is keeping me up at night. All I can think about it what I need to get and what needs to go and what I can keep, how FI works, and how much power I can get, and how fast it will go, and and and.... I'm starting to obsess....CANT WAIT FOR MY TAX RETURN!
