So what if it only spools by 6000? You still have 3000 revs before redline.

i dont really have a HP MAX i would like to have, just a min. Im not going to be happy until i have at LEAST 475whp. Anything more than that is just good on me. When i say daily driven you would have to understand my daily driving. I drive out of my neighborhood and to the back gate of the NAS... top speed reached 35mph. Next i drive down a 3 mile road to Ops side... top speed reached 55mph if im lucky, usualy its 45mph. Then i go through that gate and to the hanger i work at top speed reached 25mph. The drive home is reversal of the drive there. But with all that said i usually drive one of the Accords(i have two), and save the s2000 for the weekend. Unless i just cant pass up riding with the top down. (The sun is ALWAYS shining here in The Valley)

turn it into a drag car.

All of you saying 'oh you have 9k rpms to spool her!' Imagine once he finally spools, what about traction? Also, you're going to have to shift almost as soon as you spool in practically every gear if he's going to be making over 550whp with this turbo (which he should, otherwise it is a waste).

i think i heard the 42r on inline pros race car spools under 6k(not sure how far under 6k) and if its a built block, i assume he has an ems, also assuming he revs to 92-9300'sh... some 10"wide e/t streets on ap1 wheels should make traction do-able..

Sounds ideal for his 35-55 mph daily driving.

The 42R will give him LOTS of power. And almost all of it will absofreakinglutely useless on the street. His car with that turbo could quite possibily be one of the highest horsepower and least satisfying to drive S2000s on the planet.

correct sir. most of the guys i know running the 42r are spooling around 5500. which aint bad if your bumping the revs up to 10000 with a full head job and ems.

As others have mentioned it depends on what you are looking for. How much power, what times are you looking to run, what are you going to compromise for the power and how much can you invest in your project. Yes, we do get boost under 6k but the 42r is meant for significant power up top...and it is a handful to drive.

So you need to ask yourself all those questions first and then decide.
