Default How to know a used kit (Comptech/Vortech) is good

I've been trying to find a Supercharged S2K for a week now and I figure I try building one up from stock. I want to buy a S2K and buy a used blower (Comptec/Vortech) and have it installed/tuned.

My question is, when buying a used supercharger kit, how can you tell if it has been taken care of or if it has been abused? Would you recommend taking it to a performance shop who specialize in forced induction to inspect it? Thanks in advance.

I got a SC for sale in the forsale thread.

But the thing to check out for is basically oil leaks through the SC seals.
Shaft play on the blower and amount of boost it was running

Would an auto shop know what to look for? I don't think I'm mechanically inclined to know about this stuff.
